Avoiding Babylon
Comedy • News • Spirituality/Belief
Catholic channel and podcast focused on community, eutrapelia, and good cheer. We discuss news and topics but try to do so in a way that leads to hope, not despair. We try to remind ourselves and those who enjoy the channel that being Catholic is a joyful and exciting experience. Above all, we try to bring humor and joy to the craziness of this fallen world.

Welcome to Avoiding Babylon on Locals!

It has finally happened. The "grift" has begun! Haha. We have started a Locals community to help defray the costs of producing Avoiding Babylon.

Podcasting is often touted as a form of content creation with no barriers to entry. While it is true that it does not take much more than a cheap webcam and headset to get started, it takes significantly more to produce a podcast that anyone will want to watch or listen to.

Anthony and I have already invested a lot into the equipment and software necessary to produce good-looking and sounding content. On top of that, there are significant monthly costs for continued software subscriptions, domain hosting, email hosting, etc.

We have begun this Locals community to hopefully allow us to cover at least the monthly expenses. Anything additional will be saved to go to equipment upgrades and possibly cover future in-person trips for great content.

We truly appreciate all the support that all of our viewers and friends give us. Thank you all so much!

-Rob

Per one of your recent videos, it's unfortunate that so many people are going Orthodox, I was Orthodox for 10 years and am now coming back to the Roman Church. I am willing to share my story if it's helpful to anyone.
